Things to note about this series of tutorial videos:

1. Use these drafting videos with the workbook.
2. You will require particular materials as you go on to paint. These are described in these first videos.
3. It is of course ideal to have plenty of flat table space. You will have all the wet and messy things on the right side if you’re right-handed and on the left if you’re left-handed. Keeping the
opposite dry for your phone and image.
4. Use the flesh colour mixture described in the workbook for drafting the face. This way you will be able to easily remove drafting marks.
5. As these videos continue, you will understand how simple strips of paper will help you to achieve the correct proportions and scale up from your photograph to the large painting.
6. This part is critical, these 4 rulers must be accurate, the increments must be the same on each strip. Please note: that the vertical rulers are a completely different scale to the width rulers, so the size of their respective increments is different. Drafting the face needs to be an exercise in objectivity!
