Jeffrey Deitch Curatorial Projects, Soho, New York
For the exhibition, JT LeRoy wanted to highlight the work of Australian artist Cherry Hood, whose watercolors illustrated his new book. He first saw a small image of a Cherry Hood painting while reading through an Australian magazine that contained a story on his band Thistle. The image resonated so deeply that within the space of a week, JT Leroy signed with Last Gasp publications to produce an illustrated Harold’s End, with Cherry Hood as the artist.
